A great turn out at last nights inaugural FilmMakers Showdown presented by Telus. Six Canadain filmmakers showcased what could be the next Canadian surf film in front of a panel of judges for the grand prize of $40,000 to fund their project. Fueled by Banquet beer and Flor de Cana, those who attended were treated to a diverse array of films from river surfing, longboarding, short boarding, kooks boarding, and even surfers being hunted while boarding. In the end, Ben Gulliver took home the funding towards his new film “Surf Hunter.” Scroll down for a photo recap from a great night with the Rip Curl Family and friends.
